Building better batteries using crumpled graphene balls

The team at Northwestern University’s approach actually builds on a type of graphene it developed back in 2011. Literally taking inspiration from a trashcan of scrunched up paper, the engineers came up with a way of crumpling graphene sheets into balls by first atomizing them into tiny water droplets.
